Problem/Challenge: we needed to enhance the discoverability of the videos in our quickly growing video library. Videos did not have separate HTML pages and were all grouped together within a video player tool, making individual videos hard to find.
Solution/Train of thought: creating a separate HTML page for each video would not only help with video discoverability, but it would also have added SEO benefits.
Process: I analyzed the videos currently in the library and grouped them by theme. This exercise allowed me to determine logical categories to group each video within. Following the information science principle of “mutually exclusive, jointly exhaustive”, I developed a clean information architecture to accommodate existing and future videos.
Results: improved discoverability/findability of videos, increased organic traffic to CSIO.com, a jump in views on CSIO videos.
